Administering Profinity

The ADMIN area of Profinity holds the settings that apply to the whole installation. Most of these pages need a permission that engineers and operators do not have by default, so give it only to the people who manage the installation.

  • System configuration: every tab of the System Configuration page.
  • Users and access: user accounts, roles, service accounts, multi-factor authentication, and security restrictions.
  • Profiles: create and manage profiles, with support for kiosk mode and custom dashboards.
  • Profile dashboard: build a custom home page dashboard for a profile.
  • Menu layout: arrange the components and groups in the side menu.
  • Install and manage plugins: upload, enable, disable, and delete plugins.
  • Choose available components: choose which component types engineers can add to a profile.
  • Kiosk Mode: sign in automatically on kiosk displays and unattended monitoring stations.
  • Logs: set logging levels, log file rollover, and retention.
  • System information: the Profinity version, licence summary, and software credits.
  • License manager: read the licence state, fingerprint, and licensed features of an instance.
  • Feedback: share suggestions and report issues from within Profinity.
