Users and access

Profinity controls access with user accounts, and each account holds roles that decide what the person can see and do. User accounts and roles need the Server licence. To create your first user, refer to Create a user.

  • Managing users: create user accounts, give each person the roles they need, and find their password and two-factor settings.
  • Roles and permissions: create roles, assign them to users, and see every permission.
  • Service accounts: create accounts with API tokens that never expire, for automation and Model Context Protocol (MCP) clients.
  • MFA account management: reset a user's multi-factor authentication or password, and manage your own authenticator.
  • Component and collection security: restrict which users can see profile components and tag collections.
