How to Create a New Profile
Create a new profile to manage different configurations for different setups or locations.
Prerequisites
- Profinity V2 installed and running
- Admin access to create profiles
Steps
Step 1: Access Profile Management
- Navigate to ADMIN → Profiles
- Profile management window opens
Step 2: Create New Profile
- Click New Profile or Add Profile button
- Enter a Profile Name (e.g., "Production Site", "Test Rig")
- Click Create or Save
Step 3: Load the Profile
- Select your new profile from the list
- Click Load Profile or Set as Active
- Profile becomes the active profile
Step 4: Configure Profile
- Add components to your new profile (see Add Component to Profile)
- Configure component settings
- (Optional) Upload a custom dashboard (see Create Profile Dashboard)
Step 5: Save Profile Settings
- Profile settings are saved automatically
- Switch between profiles using ADMIN → Profiles
- Each profile maintains its own configuration
Tips
- Use Descriptive Names: Name profiles clearly (e.g., "Site A - Production")
- Profile-Specific Dashboards: Each profile can have its own custom dashboard
- Component Isolation: Components in one profile don't affect another profile
- Profile Switching: Switch profiles without restarting Profinity
